Several very good things came out of driving through that blizzard from Indianapolis to Cleveland this year and one of them is our new relationship with Single Stone Studios.

These young women, Shelley and her design team created their own business when they discovered a need.  They were looking for large stencils and couldn’t find any that were right for today’s style of decorating.  They took a leap of faith and it is paying off for them.  Congratulations ladies! 

Oh yes, and why “single stone” studios?  Because it only took David a “single stone” to take down the mighty Goliath.  Makes sense doesn’t it!  Read on as Shelley tells you their story.

So just what is a vinyl art decal?

Have you tried using these, or some type of wall vinyl art? I'm curious to know how good they really look and do they really come off without harming paint?

This looks so good, especially since I've tried to find birch trees for three years as a headboard substitute-- A decal will do just fine! But I wonder what color would be good on a chocolate brown wall and a sort of cottage-y bed?

Hey Everyone - This is Shelley from Single Stone. I read through your questions and thought I'd post some answers/ideas.

The decals have a matte finish and are very thin (think the thickness of a piece of paper) and look painted on when applied. If the paint is cured (about a month old) before you apply the graphic it should not remove any paint. I've never had them remove paint when I have removed a decal.

Applying them to glass is a great idea and I have done this many times. They look the same from the front as they do the back. I also have etched glass vinyl if you would like a frosted look. I love it!

The birch trees - these are one of my favorite designs. When I met Matt at the Expo we had these displayed and they were a BIG hit! I think crisp white on a chocolate wall could look fantastic. If you wanted something a bit more subtle we have beige and even a medium tan color that would be very nice. Feel free to drop me a line anytime.
