I had no intention to switch light bulb type until I saw this video, Matt. Now, I think I'm going to give it a shot --- at least in the kitchen, and see how I like them. A question, though: Does this type of bulb have to be disposed of as hazardous waste?

Hi Marie,

I'm so glad this video inspired you to switch to CFL's! They are the future and can save you a lot of green (cash) as well. As far as disposing of the bulb, yes you should try to recycle or dispose of the bulb properly. Most big box stores such as Home Depot are starting to recycle bulbs. Another place that you can go to for information regarding recycling bulbs is www.earth911.com This site is for anything that you wish to recycle from car batteries to paint, type in your area code and what you are recycling and you will be referred to the nearest recycling site for that material.

Great question and good for you on your choice to switch, it will save money and you are doing a good thing for our home...earth!
