Home food in the kitchen We Love Tupperware
We Love Tupperware

Who doesn’t love Tupperware?  It is an American icon for heaven’s sake.  My favorite Tupperware memory is when my Mom had a Tupperware party and received all sorts of free merchandise.  She selected a set of those pastel colored cylindrical cups in both the large and small sizes.  They even came with lids…for some reason!  As we grew up, we acquired the cake saver, popsicle molds, butter saver and more.  So, when Chris Fetter contacted us to become an advertiser, we were thrilled.  The following information is straight from Chris and we think you’ll find it both informative and exciting.

“Come home to Tupperware!”

For more than 60 years, Tupperware has been providing consumers with systems and solutions that simplify their lives.

Our H.O.M.E. logo typifies the value of living the Tupperware lifestyle.  Healthy cooking and eating, organization, saving and making money, and environmental sustainability are issues that we all face today.  Tupperware can provide a solution to each of these.

Take healthy cooking and eating, for example.  Would cooking once or twice a month, with the result being 8 –12 microwave-ready meals in your freezer, keep you from “drive-thru” dinners?  If you could cook a whole, rotisserie style chicken or beef tri tip, in the microwave, in 30 minutes or less, would that help out on your busiest days?  How about making a self-frosting German Chocolate or Pineapple Upside Down Cake in the microwave in 15 minutes – just right for drop-in guests or impromptu family celebrations?

The recipes are easy and fast – take a look!

Pineapple Upside Down Cake

Ingredients

• 1 yellow cake mix, prepared as directed
• 1 small can pineapple (slices)
• Maraschino cherries
• 1-cup brown sugar
• 1 stick of butter or margarine

Melt butter in bottom of the Oval Microwave Cooker Vent ‘N Serve Large Deep container and top with brown sugar, sprinkled evenly. Lay pineapple rings around bottom and place a cherry in the center of each one. Pour in prepared cake mix and microwave 7 minutes on “high” and then on “medium” for 7 more minutes. Take out of microwave and let set about 5 – 10 minutes. Invert onto plate, eat and enjoy!

Please note:  Any microwave-safe container such as a silicone tube pan or other similarly shaped dish may be used.  Microwave oven performance & wattage varies.  Check cake after recommended time by inserting a toothpick.  If it comes out clean, the cake is done.  If the cake is not done, continue to microwave on medium for additional 1-minute intervals until done.

German Chocolate Cake

Ingredients

• 1 German Chocolate Cake Mix (made as directed)
• 1 Can Coconut Pecan Icing

Spread icing in the bottom, and up the sides (approx. 1”) of the Oval Microwave Cooker or Vent ‘N Serve Large Deep container.  Pour prepared cake mix on top of the icing. Microwave on high for 11 minutes. Let stand a few minutes and invert onto plate.

Tupperware’s full line of microwave cookware and microwave reheatable containers including the Oval Microwave Cooker and Vent ’N Serve™ containers make meal planning & preparation easier, and provide delicious, nutritious food at both a time and cost savings.  One container that goes from the freezer to the microwave to the table; how easy is that?

We’re all concerned about our budgets these days, and saving money is so easy with Tupperware!  Cooking and eating at home, packing nutritious lunches, buying when things are on sale, are just a few examples of the cost-saving you’ll see using Tupperware in your kitchen.  Did you know that the average family throws away over $600 in spoiled produce a year?  By purchasing produce at its freshest and storing it in our FridgeSmart® containers, that money is right back in your food budget.  These containers, with our innovative venting system will keep fruit & vegetables fresh much longer.  Not finding “science experiments” in the back of the refrigerator is a good thing!

astly, let’s consider the environment.  Tupperware has been providing reusable containers from the beginning.  Our containers replace those plastic bags & water bottles, which are of so much concern.  They are also recyclable if one should find its way into the landfill.  The TupperLiving Microfiber towels save time and money on cleaning products and disposable paper towels.  Using your microwave for several meals a week can save time and cut energy costs significantly.  It all adds up to a healthier environment.
