Flavored Coffee Recipes

S

hari and I are always excited when our good friend Chris from Tupperware sends us an article.  This month she has put together a couple of her favorite coffee and tea recipes to share with all of us. So with that in mind-here is what Chris has to say.

With the bit of a chill in the air, I’ve been enjoying more flavored coffee & tea recently.  It’s nice to sit down with a good book and a cup of Cinnamon Spice Coffee or Russian Tea.

I thought that with the all the Holiday entertaining and gift-giving just around the corner, you might enjoy a couple of Tupperware’s “Make Your Own Mix” flavored coffee and tea recipes.  I even have a storage & gift giving idea for you!

As you may know, Tupperware’s Modular Mates® Containers are essential pantry and cupboard “tools”.  Virtually air and liquid tight seals lock in freshness and keep food tasting great.

The Oval 1, 2 or 3 is perfect for storing one or more recipes of flavored coffee or tea.  One of these containers full of a mix, topped with a bow and a candy cane would make a nice girlfriend gift.  The large containers (4 & 5) would be great for cookies, brownies and candy too!

peaking of brownies, the photo below shows the “Sand Art” Brownie Mix in a Tupperware® Spaghetti Dispenser.

The container holds a pound of spaghetti, and there is a portion-measuring insert just under the seal.  Just layer the ingredients, add the baking instructions and a bow and you’ve got a hostess or teacher gift that tastes great and is useful too.

Now, for those recipes!  These are two of my favorites:

CINNAMON ‘N SPICE
2/3 c. Instant Coffee
1 1/3 c. Sugar
½ tsp. Cinnamon
½ tsp. Nutmeg
½ tsp. Allspice

COFFEE MIXING DIRECTIONS
*  Place all ingredients in blender, blend until powdered
*  Use 1 - 2 tsp. with 1 cup hot water for individual        serving.
*  SPECIAL NOTE:  For sugar substitute, use 16 tsp. for 1 c. sugar.  You may also use decaffeinated coffee.

RUSSIAN TEA
1 c. Instant Tea
1 9 oz. Jar Tang
1 3-oz pkg. pre-sweetened Lemonade
½ tsp. Ground Cloves
1 tsp. Cinnamon

RUSSIAN TEA MIXING DIRECTIONS
Mix ingredients together.  Makes a little over one pint dry mix.  To serve, use 2 tsp. in 1 cup of boiling water.  Store in Modular Mate Oval 3 or Mini Rectangular 1.

Enjoy!

Chris
