Now that the home show circuit is winding down for Matt and me, it’s time to send out a little hello to everyone in the way of a spring/summer newsletter. We’ve gathered new names to add to the mailing list and would love for you to pass this along to family and friends if you think they’d enjoy the material and they can sign up for future issues. Let’s build our little community! We always feel that the more good minds and great ideas we put together, the better we all will be for it.
This spring and summer, these are the things that are on our minds. From a business standpoint, we are taking the next step towards creating a true Matt & Shari TV. Yes, we now have Ask Matt & Shari on it and some video of our live appearances, but we are working hard creating new projects, video taping the basics of design going step by step through the decorating worksheet, shop tool information, kid’s projects, no sew ideas, crafts, food and more. We are so excited, and we’re sure you’re going to LOVE it. PLUS, we are making sure there are areas for you to submit your ideas to share with everyone else. We certainly aren’t the only pros out there, you have proved your talents time and time again, so don’t be stingy with those ideas, share them! It’s a great feeling.
And yes, sadly, it appears HGTV has taken our show off the air for the second time. We will say that your outpouring of complaints DID bring the show back once. Will it work again? It’s hard to say. But I know I’ve even received calls at home from fans who want me to put it back on the air! I would if I could!!! But don’t despair, we are working with several networks to try to get back on. I mean who else out there can bring along such a loyal fan base? You guys are THE BEST!!
Also, I’ve been doing color installments in the past few newsletters and I’ve covered red and blue so far. This spring and summer, it’s all about yellow! So, I will have covered the primary hues on the color wheel, and in following issues we’ll move to the secondary colors. To read about yellow, click here.
I know that last time Matt had quite a lot to say about using a circular saw. He has another tool up his sleeve….or maybe in his tool belt that he’d love to share with you. Click here for more tool information!
My crafting glue and scissors have been out recently creating a Tree For AllSeasons for the new website. This segment will begin closer to Christmas 2008 and you’ll see each tree I’ve created, one for every month of the year. Well, I’ll give you a sneak peek at my June tree and show you a couple of red, white and blue ... with a touch of yellow … projects that you can use this summer! Most are for the holiday tabletop, but alter the colors and designs, and they can work anytime of the year. Click here for red, white, blue and yellow summer crafts!
In most areas of the country, spring and summer are all about spending our time living in the outdoors as much as we can. Even here in Florida and other areas of the sunny south, there are wonderful evenings to relax al fresco! Take a look at some of these inspiring shots of “outdoor rooms” that you can piece together with items from indoors as well as a few things purchased that are specifically meant to take the spring rains and summer sun. Click here for pics!
This is also a time when kids start getting antsy for school to be over and summer to begin. Then just like us, they won’t be able to wait to get back to school to have something to do and see all of their friends. Well, here’s a fun project for kids to make to while away those lazy summer afternoons. Click here for a fun tic, tac, toe project!
Last but certainly not least…. in fact Matt’s been crabbing that this section is always at the end….it’s the FOOD!!! We both have summer recipes for you that are tried and true. Remember, we wouldn’t add them here unless they’ve been tried on a variety of people. They are always great stand-bys and we feel like we’ve really accomplished something when we serve them….plus, they’re pretty! Click here for recipes!
(Look Matt, two paragraphs about food!) We even have a great homemade pizza that kids can make! Click for Cam's pizza recipe and order form!
Many thanks to all of you for the warm birthday wishes. (April is birthday month for both Matt and me!) We are taking the additional years as best as we can! Hahaha! Just don’t use those darn number candles!! They were fun as kids, and I think that’s just how they were meant to be used….with kids!!
Have a great spring and summer ya’ll! We’ll be working hard to bring you the unveiling of the new mattandshari.com and especially our MSTV!
